Cookies & storage

This page describes how convrt may use browser storage and similar technologies.

Essential operation

convrt needs JavaScript enabled to run the converter. The tool may use in-memory storage while you use the page (for example to hold your session file list until you refresh or close the tab). That data is not sent to us as part of the conversion process—see Privacy.

Analytics & marketing cookies

convrt (convrt.ch) uses PostHog for product analytics and exception / error tracking (so we can see when something breaks). Events are sent to PostHog endpoints that we proxy under /ingest/ on our own domain — your browser talks to convrt first, then our servers relay to PostHog. PostHog may use browser storage or similar mechanisms for a technical identifier (for example an anonymous visitor id); it does not receive your raster or media files when those are processed locally in your tab.

Only on the YouTube download page (/youtube), convrt may load Google AdSense or related Google advertising scripts. Those can use cookies or storage in line with Google's advertising technologies. We do not use these placements on the image, audio, or video converters or on the compress hub — they appear only here to help cover server-side download costs.

Your choices

You can control cookies and site data through your browser settings (block, delete, or clear on exit). Blocking all storage may break interactive features.
